Favorite and least favorite

I have enjoyed a lot of things in this class and have learned a lot from the different activites we have done. I have enjoyed doing the different activities from CS3 and being able to learn how to use tables in CS3.  It has increased my knowledge about how to do design a web page. One thing that I wasn’t really fond of doing was the different projects in the CS3 chapters and having to repeat each project over and over again. That was my least favorite thing from this class but either way I still enjoyed most of the activities in this class.

COLLABORATION

 

 

 

In Physics last year, our teacher asked us to build a project using simple machines. We were able to choose our groups, but maybe that wasn’t the best idea. Our communication with each other did not work out well and our project lacked greatly in materials. It also lacked its basic construction because we did not come to a conclusion on what it would look like and what it would accomplish. This project was definitely a failure because of the lack of collaboration.

Balance

 

 

 

Recently,  I have been very busy with my senior project and I have to be able to balance the time I spend on it and the other things I do. During the week, I usually spend my Tuesday nights playing volleyball and Thursday playing football. I enjoy these activities but I have to be able to balance in these activities with my senior project. This week in order to work on my senior project, I had to sacrifice volleyball and football in order to to balance the time I needed to work on my senior project.  This is how I have been balancing my life with the things I enjoy to do and my senior project.

Critiquing Soccer

 

 

 

 

I believe one thing that I would be able to critique would be soccer. I have played soccer for about six years and know the sport very well. Even though I do not play anymore, I still know most of the rules and regulations that are set in soccer. It would be easy for me to explain to someone else how the game is played. I could also point out any flaws that the players may make in a game and why yellow cards and red cards are given. Soccer is something that I could easily critique.

Confidence in Playing Sports

 

 

 

 

 

Like a lot of people, I enjoy being physically active by playing various sports such as football, soccer, volleyball, baseball and so on. Even though I’m not on any professional teams in these sports, I enjoy playing with my friends and family. I gained this confidence in playing sports by constantly playing them. With lots of practice I was able to gain skills in playing these sports well. Now that I have built confidence in playing sports, I’m always sure that I will play my best.

My Home is beautiful

I believe one of the things I find beautiful is my own home. My home can be a place for various different things such as resting, playing, eating and just hanging out. It is the place where I feel close to my family and I feel safe and secure while I am at home. Besides providing these things, my home is physically beautiful when it is kept up with and maintained. I enjoy being there when it is clean and inviting. This is why I believe my home is beautiful.

Web page design experience

During the weeks that I have been in this class, I have learned a lot of new things in this class. This nine weeks has been a great learning experience for me when it comes to creating a web page. I have learned about the composition of a web page and the basic layout of a web page. Along with this I have also learned about what tags do what on an html page. My understanding of how web pages are made has increased greatly from this class.

This class has been a great learning experience for me. I was able to gain a knowledge on the basic construction of a web page. This consists of opening the html, then the heading, title, close the heading, open the body, close the body then close the html. That is the simplest form of a web page. It contains information in the title and the body with the body having most of the information.

Another thing that I have been able to learn about are the different tags used in a web page. There are a great deal of tags that do certain things to make a web page look the way it is. For example the center tag will center the text on a web page. Another tag that is used frequently is the paragraph tag. It is used to separate text on a web page. Other tags include heading tags, link tags, and blinking text tags.

With so many tags that are available, web pages vary greatly so much on the Internet. Even though I have only used note pad for creating web pages, I know that there are also programs that are used to simplify complex tags that are used on web pages. My senior project is going to be on creating a web site using web page designing software and not note pad. I hope to learn more on how web page designing software is used to create a web site. Hopefully this will increase my understanding of creating web pages.

This first nine weeks of web page design has been a great learning experience for me. I know there is still a lot that I haven’t learned, but I have still learned a great deal about web page design. I find web page design very interesting and might pursue it in college as a profession. Whether it is web page design that I choose to pursue or not, it has opened up a new window for me in deciding what I want to do when I go into college. I hope to learn about web page design even more over the next nine weeks!

Hip Hop and Rap Criticism

In todays growing society, music is highly popular amoung all ages of different people in the United States. It has had the most effect, however, on the youth of America. Hip hop and rap have been considered to have a negative effect on this age group and it has taken much criticism because of its negative effect. With vulgar lyrics along with double meanings it is no wonder it has taken so much criticism. It is easy to see how hip hop and rap have a negative effect on teenagers.

Hip hop and rap have become a very popular music style for most teenagers and young adults. There is a descent amount of it that is appropriate but there is a much larger percenatge of rap and hip hop that is not appropriate for its listeners. Most listeners say that the songs have a good rhthym or beat and that they don’t listen to the lyrics, but the lyrics are still there and can be very vulgar and can contain profanity as well. Hip hop and rap can avoid these suggestive lyrics and unnecessary profanity making the music much more appropriate for listeners. When lyrics become more appropriate, these music styles will not recieve as much criticism.

With so many people listening to hip hop and rap, it is easier for music publishers and artists to stick to what they have created because it is so successful. They are afraid that if they change the way their music is composed that they will lose profit. This is why that so much of the music is the same because it has created a great deal of profit. If musicians would just submit to considering changing lyrics with less profanity and suggestive lyrics, it would be better for the youth of the United States. Hopefully this would change the criticism of hip hop and rap.

The great amount of criticism against rap and hip hop usually comes from the parents of the teenagers who are listening to it. Most parents believe that these genres of music do not have good effects on their children. While teenagers may not always pay attention to the lyrics, parents can detect what is being said and do not want that to be listened to by their children. It is much easier for adults to recognize the flaws in the music than it is for teenagers. That’s why parents are so against hip hop and rap.

Even though there is a large majority of the teenage population that enjoys hip hop and rap, the criticism for the lyrics and other components is very strong. It will be almost impossible t0 change the minds of musicians because it is what works for them. The growing criticism is not from the teenagers in most cases so that is why there is no reason in changing because the teenagers enjoy the music. This music can be easily altered but it is not likely to happen. Rap and hip hop will most likely stay the same and the criticism will always follow

Teen Drivers

In today’s world, there are a great number of teenage drivers. It has made it easier for parents to not have to worry about driving their teenagers to various places all the time but teenagers take on a lot of responsibility once they are behind the wheel. It is important for teenagers to focus all of their attention on driving and not to multi task. With the lack of attention to the road, there can be serious accidents which could have been avoided in the first place. Teenagers must understand how dangerous driving can be if they do not following the laws of the road.

Teenagers must understand the responsibility in driving and what consequences come with irresponsible driving. With the openness of being able to drive where ever and how ever it is sometimes hard for a teenager to resist the temptation of showing off or maybe just speeding. With this kind of driving, it creates a hazardous driving environment for everyone on the road including the teenager who is driving. A teenager needs to be a responsible driver and abide by the rules of the road. This will lead to less accidents in teenage drivers.

With the enjoyment of being able to finally drive, teenagers can be overcome with excitement while driving. This excitement can distract the driver to where it may cause an accident with another driver. Another distraction that teenagers face while driving is texting. Texting can take away the attention necessary to drive safely. There has been a study of texting and driving and it is believed that texting has the same distraction on a driver as one beer. Distractions like this can cause serious accidents, but if these distractions are avoided it will create a much safer driving experience.

Another temptation teens face while driving is showing off. This may include speeding or making dangerous maneuvers through traffic. Either of these things can cause danger for the teenage driver and the other drivers on the road. Teenagers sometimes enjoy the thrill of showing off by speeding or performing dangerous turns when the enjoyment should be in driving responsibly. When teenagers drive safe, than it creates a less likely chance of an accident occurring.

With it easier to be in an accident from these distractions, it is important for teenagers to drive with responsibility and alertness. If teenagers would avoid speeding and weaving through traffic, they would be able to be more mature and self controlled drivers.  With the rate of accidents teenagers cause increasing, it is best to be a smart and safe driver to avoid such an experience.  Accidents can cause serious injuries and death which can be hard experience to go through. Teenagers should just be responsible drivers making the road a safer place for everyone.
