Guitars

I have never thought much about creating a time capsule or what to put in one. I would want to put as many things as possible inside one but if i were limited to only five things then each of them would have to have some sort of importance to me. The things I would want to put into my time capsule would be a lap top containing pictures and different media items, a copy of the Book of Mormon , DVDs of movies during my life time and a DVD player, a guitar, and a xbox 360.

The reasons I would want to put a lap top in my time capsule are quite important. When someone uncovers my time capsule, they’ll be able to know who I am by the different media I leave on it. It will contain pictures of my family and I and videos of different events in my life. It will be able to help someone see what life was like during a life time before theirs. In this way, a lap top would be very important to put in a time capsule.

The next thing that would be in my time capsule would be a Book of Mormon. The reason I would put this in my time capsule would be because I am a Mormon and I would want people to know of my religion and what kind of standards I have. This would maybe give someone a chance to read this awesome book who hasn’t had that opportunity. Even with it being far into the future, this book would still have the same impact on lives as it has in my life time.

The next items I would put in my time capsule would be DVDs. In the future, there will most likely be a more efficient way to watch movies, but people might be interested to know what it is like to just watch a DVD. I would include a large variety of movies for people of the future to watch. Maybe it will be an interesting experience for those watching and maybe it will just be boring and pointless.

I would also include a gibson les paul guitar and an xbox 360 as my other two items. I have no particular reason to include these items but they have a great deal of value. With these five things in my time capsule, people of the future would be able to receive a glimpse of someone who lived in a lifetime before them. I will be able to share my life with someone after I have died and give someone the thrill of learning about technology and life. This is what I would hope to accomplish with my time capsule.

There will be many different choices to choose from once I have completed my last year of high school. I am set on one decision though and that is going on a mission when I am 19. The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints asks all young men, who are worthy, to go on a mission. The mission lasts for two years and I will be sent where ever the leaders of the church believe I should go to serve. This is my first objective once I complete high school.

Once I finish my two year mission for my church, I plan to come home and start college at Southern Miss. I will also be working as much as I can so I will be able to provide for myself. I will be taking all of my required classes my freshman year and begin to decide on what I want to major in which most likely will be somewhere in the field of medicine. While I am in college, I hope to be able to get married also. These are my plans while I am in college.

Once I am finished with my four years of college and married, I will start on singling out what I want my life profession to be. The most likely profession for me at this point is to become a doctor. I’m not sure on what kind of doctor I will be but it will be something I enjoy doing. I will have a regular job that will help pay for medical school and other expenses. I will also start on having a family before I’m out of college.

After I have completed college and also started a family of a own, I will be almost through with medical school. Once I am through with medical school, I plan to specialize in a surgical area such as heart or brain surgery. After my years of specialization, I plan to work at a local hospital as a surgeon. Once I have earned enough money, I will build and move my family into a fairly nice house. These are my plans for my career.

Once I have established my career as a surgeon, I will then focus more on my family and what is necessary to help my children and wife. I will do my best to provide for them with the things they need and also provide some luxuries if i can. I want my family to have a good experience being together and hopefully it will bring us all close together. Once my kids move out I hope to still be a good grandfather to their children. This is what I want to accomplish in my life after high school.

stressed student

In today’s world, high schools have created a more challenging curriculum for students to help prepare them for a life after high school. With constant tests, quizzes, and homework, students hardly ever have a chance to relax and are constantly having to think about to school. With seven hours of school for five days a week, many students are completely drained by the end of each day. Many students have to concentrate just on school and nothing else because they do not have the time for it. High school causes a great deal of stress for all students.

Due to the relentless work and assignments given out in each class in school, students can never be rid of the overwhelming stress from all of this work. Besides the work done in the classrooms, there are also many students who do extracurricular activities that are also school related. These activities also add on to the stress a high school student feels from high school. For example, once a student is finished with school he may head straight to football practice or swim practice which may last throughout the evening. Once he is finished with practice, he has to worry about the homework that was given to him from each teacher or to study for his test the next day.

Stress is common in everyone’s lives and is actually a part of life. Without stress, many things would not get done in this world. Too much stress can be a bad thing however. It can cause lack of sleep, anxiety and many other things. So when high schools create too much stress for students to handle, they can become overwhelmed and will not accomplish as much in their work.

Due to constant projects, students in high school may frequently be overwhelmed. However, students can bring unnecessary stress upon themselves through procrastination. Many projects in school are given in advance so students have time to work on them. The problem with this is that a great deal of students put off doing their projects until the last minute. This procrastination causes a lot more stress than if a student had spanned the project out over time.

The sad truth is that high schools cause students a great deal of stress. Even though it may not be intentional by high schools,  stress comes with the whole learning experience because in a way learning would not be as sufficient if there wasn’t some stress. In contrast,  stress can overload students to where they do not want to learn or accomplish anything. So even though many people believe stress to be a bad thing, it can also be a good thing. Stress is a part of life and we have to deal with it every day and the better we deal with it, the more we will accomplish in life.

affluenza

Affluenza is the bloated, sluggish and unfulfilled feeling that results from efforts to keep up with the Joneses. An epidemic of stress, overwork, waste and indebtness caused by the pursuit of the American Dream. An unsustainable addiction to economic growth. This is one of the United States problems today in our society and economy. It consists of greed for gain and profit and will never be sustained.

When people receive an increase in their life such as material wealth, it may lead to feelings of dissatisfaction rather than feelings of achievement. When really it should be an experience of a better life instead of this. Affluenza can be well explained with a metaphor. It is like a disease. For example, many of those who become successful and wealthy may feel unfulfilled and hungry for more wealth and success, finding that they do not get joy from the items they purchase.
Affluenza is not recognized by many people. Most people don’t even realize they are being consumed by it. Their desire for wealth or success in the economy may actually blind them and what they think will satisfy them will actually bring no satisfaction. Almost everyone experiences affluenza but it varies in how it effects people. For example, someone may just be looking to try a new car to make them more happy while another person is constantly trying to raise their profits in the market to try and gain a happiness that is impossible to reach in the way they are trying to do it. Even though these are two completely different scenarios, it is still affluenza.

It would seem that most people want things that they do not need. This want for various things in the world will never be fulfilled. Even though when we purchase such items we may experience a happiness for some time, this happiness will not last long. Once this joy is gone, we tend to search for something else that would make us happy in life. The truth is that material items in this world will not give us a lasting happiness.

In conclusion about affluenza, many people do not know they are victims to this addiction. Everyone to some extent has affluenza. Even though it is not a sickness or a disease, it is more of a state of mind. The constant want for more worldly things fuels affluenza and the economy. Without people constantly spending money on different things, it would effect the state of the economy and the United States so even though that affluenza is an addiction, it has become required for the growth of America.

school uniform

School uniforms have become the normal dress for almost every school throughout the United States and also the world. Uniforms at schools have created sides where one is opposing school uniforms and the other is all for it. School uniforms create a more unified and orderly school but sacrifice the free agency of students who wish to express themselves by how they dress. Many schools have conformed to having school uniforms and others are pushing towards uniforms by slowly creating stricter dress codes in order to make the transition easier on students. Even though school uniforms may make a school look better, uniforms are taking away from the students more than they are giving to them.

School uniforms are not going to make a school any better. School uniforms are mainly just to try and send a message of how good that particular school really is or how organized it is by having all of the students dress the same. School uniforms do not create organization, they just make it seem more organized. The real organization comes from the schools make up and not from dress. Schools need to realize that school uniforms do not create a better environment for students and they do not create a more organized school.

School uniforms take away from a students free agency of dressing how they wish to. A person shouldn’t be restricted on wearing a certain kind of clothes during the day at school. Students should be able to wear what they want to school as long as it it appropriate. Students should at least have a say so on whether or not they are for uniforms. It shouldn’t be decided by the school faculty.

In conclusion I believe that school uniforms have taken away more than they have given to schools. They do not establish organization but merely just create an image for a school. Students should have the right to be able to dress how they choose, not have their dress chosen for them. This is a growing problem that must be recognized. If someone doesn’t realize this epidemic, every school could end up with uniforms.
